Timothy Gibbs Zehnder
At 10 years old, Los Angeles native, Tim Gibbs Zehnder, began writing songs, collaborating with his brother, Tom, in their folk-singing, harmony-improvising family of five. Also exposed to a wide variety of music-making through church and school choirs, he earned a B.A. in Music Composition from UCLA. He did sound track scoring for educational gaming, but he has largely focused on faith-based social justice through the band he cofounded, Zehnder (Tim: vocals and bass; Tom Zehnder: vocals and guitar; Mike Boggio: drums); and now more recently through a reinvention of the same lineup, the band Double Batch Daddy, where Tim co-writes and produces songs, sings, plays bass, mandolin, and percussion.
For 20 summers, Tim has brought his love of music-making to Ghost Ranch. Whether it was teaching a Stomp-like percussion class at Family Week, or infusing Youth Week with truly eclectic worship music including writing theme songs for the week, he brings a passion for authentic story telling and a deep commitment to holding space for the healing balm of music.
