Mónica Gómez

Mónica Gómez has made her living as a writer, performing songwriter, broadcast professional, commercial voice talent, martial arts instructor, and educator in the arts. Currently, she teaches for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Texas at El Paso, and in 2024 presented a series for Osher On-line through Northwestern University.
For more than 30 years, Gómez has worked with diverse populations, from youth to the elderly, incarcerated juveniles to military veterans with PTSD, leading workshops that integrate creative writing with concepts from the martial arts and her experiences as a performer and TV and radio broadcaster. Since 1994, she has studied the internal martial art of taiji with masters from around the globe.
Monica’s workshops invigorate, entertain and inspire participants to practice the literal creative power of writing to make positive changes in their lives.
