Debra Alvis
Debra Alvis is a licensed psychologist, yoga therapist, and meditation teacher. She teaches internationally, sharing her expertise with participants around the world.
At the University of Georgia, Debra developed and led the university’s mindfulness program and co-led a research team. She maintains psychology practice supporting clients on their personal journeys.
Debra has created an embodied, integrative approach to women’s individuation. Her work weaves together contemplative psychology, internal parts differentiation, and the expressive arts, providing a holistic framework for growth.
Debra’s work is grounded in personal contemplative practice. Extended studies with Marion Woodman’s Body/Soul/Rhythms provide a nuanced understanding of the interplay between body and mind. Certification as a mandala teacher expands her expertise in the expressive arts, allowing her to incorporate creative modalities for deeper self-exploration. Training in Internal Family Systems further informs her perspective. Through these studies, Debra brings an informed, compassionate presence supporting individuals in transformative ways.
