Bring your love of storytelling and a sense of adventure.

Do you have a children’s book idea floating around in your head that you’ve never quite gotten down on paper? We’ll grow that seed of an idea and with the help of the class, we’ll create a full-fledged picture book script.

Perhaps you’ve dabbled in art and want to try to illustrate it yourself but are unsure of your artistic abilities? We will discuss the illustration process and storyboarding. By the end of the session, you’ll have the start of your book and a plan of action for how to make the book you’ve been dreaming about. If you are a returning student, we will focus on refining your scripts, learning Procreate and fine tuning your book pitch.

This course is instructed by author/illustrator Colter Jackson. The class will cover the basics of children’s book making and will include time in the studio with a qualified and enthusiastic instructor that has your back if you want to experiment.

Let’s have some fun and be inspired by the land of enchantment!
