Quilting: Easy as 1, 2, 3

This weeklong workshop will provide the beginning quilter as well as the experienced quilter with the confidence and techniques needed to create art using a sewing machine, fabric and thread. All levels of quilters are welcome; yes, even the “brand new, never have sewn a stitch, want to try it quilters”. There will be instructions, techniques, tips and tricks to sew quilt blocks that are square, with points that are crisp, seams that match and the blocks that lay flat. The construction of a variety of quilt blocks ranging from traditional, modern, scrappy and “crazy” will be demonstrated. Quilters can make the blocks they chose and will have all the patterns to take home. Depending on the skill level most quilters will be able to complete a throw sized quilt top, ready to take home to finish.

Instruction and guidance will be provided for all the components involved in making a quilt. We will learn how to cut accurately, sew a 1/4″ quilter’s seam, match seams, keep your points, see some of the newest tools of the trade and best of all create memories and new friendships as we quilt together.
