Plein Air Oil Painting
With Juliana Crownover
July 5 - 11, 2026
Come paint on location in the glorious landscapes of Ghost Ranch! Through demonstration and individual instruction, you’ll be guided through a process designed to help you gain confidence and joy in painting both outdoors and in the studio.
Together we’ll capture the dramatic clouds, skies, sunsets, and ever-changing light of Ghost Ranch through thoughtful attention to value, color, and composition. Each class is structured with enough direction to ensure success and enough freedom to allow for creative expression.
Daily field trips will take us to inspiring on-location sites to paint directly from life. You’ll learn a simplified approach to plein air painting using a limited palette and intentional color studies to build confidence in color mixing and observation.
Please be prepared to paint outside. Participants will bring their own materials You can view more of my artwork at www.paintandsimple.com and on my website: www.julianacrownover.com
If you’ve been wanting to try plein air painting or have always dreamed of painting Ghost Ranch from life, this is the class for you.
