Architectural Illustrations & Home Portraits
With Rick Bartholomew
July 26 - August 1, 2026
Come learn about or enhance your sketching abilities in the rich landscape and architectural heritage of the expanses of Ghost Ranch and local communities utilizing 2D/3D perspective drawing techniques. Participants will explore the properties’ building environment, adventure on field trips to the Taos Art Museum (Fechin House and its interior design and detailing), the Greater World Earthship Community (west of Taos), and the Muslim worship complex (Dar Al Islam) in nearby Abiquiu recording one’s visual experience through sketching and photos. You will create an architectural composition and/or design details using pen/ink, color markers, and/or acrylic painting techniques in a realistic or abstract version of your inspirational journey through the local built environment. This experience could open your artistic talents to compose home portraits and the world of architectural illustrations.
